Baby Steps and Baby Bumps

Recently released to do some recreational photography, I decided to get my feet wet!
I am still not taking on clients because I do not have full use of my arm, and someone has to carry all my gear because of my weight restrictions (shout out to my AMAZING assistant, Kelli!!) BUUUUT - I am allowed to do things!  Which is perfect timing, because my dear friend Katie is about to POP!

Katie is amazing; Anyone who has ever met her can attest to that.  Selfless and caring- she is a true healer.  Her light is contagious, and she has been the biggest help to me this last year dealing with my injury.  I don't even have enough words to describe her.  I am so blessed to call her my friend.
She has been asking about Maternity Photos for a couple of months, and the time is NOW!  Katie is a true "earth goddess" if there ever was one, so it was no surprise to me when she picked this spot in Enumclaw for her shoot.  As she was describing it to me, I knew it was going to be PERFECT.  And as soon as she said "creek" I knew we would be getting in the water!

This session was so much fun for SO many reasons.  Obviously, I was shooting again- so that's an automatic fun time.  But her husband had me cracking up!  Scott is a tall, serious looking dude, but when he smiles and laughs, you can't help but to laugh right along with him!  I don't know Scott very well; I knew he wanted to be involved, but I was not sure where his excitement level landed on the proverbial scale.  Let me tell you, it was pretty high!  He was all about the "awkward prom pose" and even said he had researched so he could strike a few "model" poses for me.

Awkward Prom Pose just for fun.

A natural talent here, folks.
At one point, I was laughing so much I couldn't keep my camera still enough to take a picture.  He was also a HUGE help in making pathways in grassy meadows, removing spider webs, and helping us decorate the creek with flowers and leaves.  He was obviously a gentleman and helped Katie up and down the embankment to the water as well as helping Kelli carry things.

Scott would stand up stream and toss in the flowers that Kelli picked and branches of leaves. They would float down towards me, I would grab them, hand them to Scott, and he would throw them back in.

I keep a filter on my lens that allows for some amazing lens flares!

All this magic was made inside the camera. No post-production here, folks.

The water was so clear!!

It was so refreshing and cool. Not too cold at all.

She is seriously perfectly pregnant!

I am so thankful these two trusted this still gimpie photographer to capture such a special time in their lives.
I cannot wait to meet their little man, and take a gazillion photos of him!!!

I set up this shot, but in the brain fog of my new medication, I could not get setting right to see the mountain. So, I have to give a HUGE shout out to Kelli for actually capturing this shot. (this is why I keep her around, folks. She's got skills!)
